Never Stop Learning while Using your (free) Resources

There have always been so many things I’ve wanted to learn and do for myself. My mom homeschooled me and made sure she found various resources to help you learn. We are talking over a decade ago, where the information wasn’t instantly available at our fingertips like it is today. She took me to the library rented books and DVDs on certain subjects, bought me computer programs, and she took me to different events and courses as well.

endless learning

With all that she always taught me to seek for the knowledge for what I wanted to learn, no matter what it was. Often, she would show me something and I would run with it then learn the more on my own. I could simply watch or read something and figure it out from there. I learned how to braid hair, sew, knit, and a lot of Spanish this way. I’m very good at crafting with my hands and since I was a child learn dozens of things on my own. I have understood this is called an autodidact or one that teaches himself.

Nowadays, we have so much available at the click of a button for full and instant learning tools. I see so many people wanting to learn simple things however, they don’t seek out the knowledge. They only want to ask others, if that. Afterward, they don’t go any further than that with the new knowledge, even when it can be found all over. Me on the other hand, I kind of go overboard. I’ve been told to focus on one thing at a time, 2that weighs on me because again there is so much I want to do and learn.

I’ve always been the one that people try to come two and learn a skill that I happen to be good at( IE sewing, YouTube videos, or doing hair). I try to explain as much as I can to them but it can be very tedious trying to repeat myself to different people. This is actually why I started both of my YouTube channels. I refer them to my videos and let them know I’m here for questions afterward if they happen to have any. It cuts down on me repeating myself a ton.

Now, I have my own blog to explain another side of what I know and want to share with other. Things I need to express that I found to be helpful in my life. I’ve tried to talk about these things in person and I found myself going in circles, it’s even a lot to talk about in a video. I am thankful I’m able to have another platform for my readers. I hope I am able to teach others to search for what they want to learn and become better autodidacts.

Working at home more video learning time when I am not too busy. I used this time to really delve into the plethora of things I’m interested in. When I want to learn something new or understand something more, I completely immersed myself in whatever I can find on said subject. In the last few months, I’ve done this with about a dozen different items I have interest in.

Nearly a month ago I decided I would start blogging, so when I set my mind on something I go for it. I’ve been sat down and watched dozens of YouTube videos on blogging for about a week or so straight. I found reading material on it and I joined a few Facebook group about it as well. In a short time, I understood how to set up and personalize my website. All that made me sit back and realize how many things I put my mind to and completed.

I’ve discovered so many resources at my fingertips mainly through the internet. So not only instantly but conveniently through my laptop. Best of all I’ve used were free and I’m still able to learn things in depth. Nowadays, there are so many things available online for free. YouTube, of course, other blogs for your interest, a podcast for everything imaginable, and then there are course programs like Alison.com. Alison is a free online course program that I utilized To learn the initial basics of Photography and Photoshop. (SJ Ray Photos).

Of course, reading is essential with anything you want to learn. There are literally books for every Interest I can think of. Now, remember I told you my resources have been free? Well, that a tad bit harder to do with books, but I have several solutions for you. I’ll share a trick with you that I’ve been using since I was 16 years old. Downloading free ebooks online, you won’t find every book but you can find quite a few. Just Google” Book Title” send PDF after it and download to your device. Enable PDF downloads if you download the Google Play app so you’re able to read the PDF just like an ebook. Also, PDFDrive.com is a website I’ve been using recently where I’ve been able to find lots of helpful books.

I had a few more solutions for free books as well. Kindle and Google Play books have all types of free books, you just go to the store and search free books. Not to mention, both also have very cheap e-books listed and they often have specials where you can get a discount off the books too. We mustn’t forget the library, some even have ebooks and can ship other books to you.  Lastly, utilize the thrift stores around you. Most of the books are not more than a dollar each, most are in like-new condition. I’ve gotten dozens of books for me and my girls this way without breaking the bank.

I don’t believe people truly realize how much access we have to information. Or maybe they don’t know the various outlets available to learn within this information age. I’ve used close to all of them, at least the free ways. I hope if there is something you are really interested in learning I’ve helped you understand you’re able to pursue it without hassle. Be inspired to start another journey of learning something new.
